Philosophy of Teaching Statement

My philosophy of teaching is that it is crucial for children to have a safe learning environment. They must have access to education irrespective of their race, gender, caste/class. All children are unique and it is imperative to have a stimulating educational environment. A safe learning space will ensure their physical, mental, emotional, as well as social growth, My desire as a teacher, as an instructor, is to create and cultivate this type of learning environment where students and learners of all age and learning abilities will be able to meet their full potential. Everyone is welcome to my classroom and all kinds of unconventional ideas, differing opinions, creativity, and risk taking will be shared.

Teaching is a process of continued learning from your students, your colleagues, the students’ parents, and the overall community. It is a lifelong process where if you allow yourself, you will learn new strategies, new ideas, and new philosophies. I feel with time my educational/teaching philosophy may see some changes, and that’s acceptable as it means with my continued learning and un-learning of things I have grown and developed newer perspectives.
